A Tale of 2 Admirals - Enemy Frequency

~~Enemy Frequency Intercepted: Begin Transmission~~

As the tale of 2 admirals begins I find myself with a lot of ships to paint. This is a blessing and curse, it's nice to have the ships to play with if needed but, it also makes progress quite challenging as a mass of unpainted ships aren't exactly a good motivator. The Tale should hopefully fix that!

Here begins the latest attempt to motivate me to get more painting done. See below for the rules, and the plan!

The Prussian Empire - A Brief Introduction

The Fleet So Far

Hello and welcome to the second of my fleet profiles - the Prussian Empire. My first and largest fleet, they have undergone a major repaint over the past few months, after I became more and more disappointed with the initial scheme.

This post will be a brief introduction, rather than trying to cover every ship in the fleet. I'll go into more depth about the different ship classes in the fleet over time.

Dystopian Wars - Enemy Frequency - The Russian Coalition

~~Enemy Frequency Intercepted: Begin Transmission~~

'The roaring crowds, their cheers filled with pride and hope, they were never why she served, but it was impossible to deny that the men were in better spirits since the parade at St. Petersberg. It may not have been the largest ship in the fleet but there's little doubt Katyana's icebreaker had sailed proudly beside the Admiral's aging Moskva class. Though both had had the limelight stolen by Captain Alexeev's floating church, one of Markov's more fanciful creations.

The jubilation of parade seemed distant now as Commodore Volkov strode the decks of her vessel. As she hauled open a heavy steel door, a blast of warm air rushed out to meet her and she headed towards the bridge. She took her seat in the command chair, her crew standing at attention, their faces still filled with the optimism of a tour's first month.

"At ease, we're not on parade now, eyes on your stations.

It's going to be a long winter" she sighed under her breath.'

The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - An Introduction

The Fleet So Far

Hello all and welcome to a look at one of my three Dystopian Wars Fleets. I'm starting with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (PLC). Fast, aggressive and with a unique aesthetic, they have been great fun to paint and thoroughly enjoyable to play with in the few games I've had with them.

What is Dystopian Wars?

A Brief Introduction

I'm going to be talking about this game a lot on this blog. I am aware this is quite a niche wargame so I thought it best to publish a brief summary so anyone finding this blog isn't totally lost. For those who already know about the game and the world, feel free to skip this one!

Welcome, to the start of many things (hopefully)

A brief history and a look ahead

Hello all, and welcome to the first of what I hope will be many posts on this blog, covering my various forays in and around the hobby of miniature wargaming. I have spread photographs of my painting around various forums over the years, but thought it would be good to get everything into once place. This blog will therefore contain a lot of older painting, much of which is better than what I'm doing now thanks to a 4 year hiatus from the hobby: I still haven't quite got back to the level that I feel I was at.

So without further ado, a quick sneak-peak of what you are likely to see on this blog.
